Kopf KF8016: Wave 2 Street Fighter Minifigs Review

First previewed here!
First wave was also reviewed here!

Generally these figs are good, but the previous wave was much better in my opinion. I think this set was made by a different supplier or something.

Also, none of them have side prints which is why I'll be sticking to front and back pics.

KF2001 Akuma and KF2002 Sagat. What you see is what you get. I think the best way to describe this, especially for people who regularly buy minifigs, is that this set is like POGO's minifigs, POGO's better minifigs. They don't have that same "gloss" the previous set had, but again these ones aren't bad too.

Back print. Note that only Sagat has back face printing. Everyone else is clear back head, no alternate faces.
Sagat also has back leg printing.

Now for KF2003 Thunder Hawk and KF2004 Dee Jay. Same comments about these with the previous two. Dee Jay's skin though seems a bit reddish, is that accurate?

Also, because of the colors, the print isn't as visible on Dee Jay's torso. It's also not aligned well. It's not so obvious though from afar because of the colors [of torso mold and torso print].

Back prints. Again, no alternate faces. Also, no back leg printing which is a shame. I feel like Thunder Hawk deserved back leg printing.. Oh well..

KF2005 Cammy and KF2006 Chun-Li. First concern: Chun-Li's hair isn't accurate supposedly. I guess it's a bit close, but it gives you the Princess Leia vibe more than Chun-Li. Then there's also the issue of the face's eyebrows being different from the hairpiece. Minor misalignment between the legs and waist too though. Other than these, the fig is alright. For Cammy, what you see is what you get. The only problems for me are: 1) no hair, which is kinda understandable because that hat + hair would be a hassle to make and 2) the flesh colors on the print are not too sharp, maybe because of the dark green torso. Nothing too deal breaking though.

Back printing. Chun-Li also gets back leg printing, but Thunder Hawk and Cammy who seem like they need back leg printing didn't.. At least the back torso printing is there.

Do note that Cammy's hat is different from the usual as seen on the right. (Captain Hydra as stand only, lol)

Now, KF2007 Bison and KF2008 Balrog. Same comments! Glad though that we have the shoulder piece in grey now and that we also have those boxing gloves available to us too!
Kinda big issue for me though is the alignment of the legs and waist printing.. I mean look at that, it's way crooked; you'd need to lie back the torso to a certain degree to align the prints and it's really frustrating especially if you're OC. Hopefully an isolated case.

Back.

Bison gets back leg printing but the others didn't even though Bison has a cape???

Oh yeah, these guys came with that kind of baseplate versus the old wave which came with XINH-like baseplates. I guess that's somewhat proof that the factory/manufacturer/etc. who made this really is different from the first wave hence the lesser quality (but again, not bad quality, even generally good quality actually)

The figs also came assembled with no extra hands or anything, unlike the previous wave.

Closer look at the gloves.

Good good set. I guess I just got spoiled by the recent previous Kopf sets that were pretty much amazing. Hopefully Kopf gets back to the previous quality.

I'm just surprised at how quick they are at making these and still being good quality [compared to other brands like POGO (or at least the POGO figs that suck)]. And also surprised at how AngeloMarcus Greenhills releases these so so quickly, but since they get released so quickly, they also might lose stock quickly, so try to pass by asap!

  1. Great review, thanks. The lack of back print on Cammy's legs irks me but overall looks ok enough.

  2. I just got my set and was put off by the lack of side prints on the legs. Sagat looks like a nude from the side.
